Fresno, CA Grizzlies
The Grizzlies are a minor league baseball team. They play in the triple A league for the Houston Astros. When they play home games they play at Chukchansi Park, which is in downtown. Professional baseball came to the city in 1898. In the years before the inception of the Grizzlies, Fresno had teams in the California State League.
The Fuego is the soccer team for the city, founded in 2003. They play in the Premier Development League, which is in the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The Regional Sports Complex is a hundred and ten-acre softball, baseball and soccer mega-plex. The complex offers nine combination soccer and football fields, two of these fields are championship size. There are also six baseball fields, paintball grounds, many picnic benches, restrooms and a picturesque pond. The various amenities included in this complex include children’s playground areas, forty three picnic tables, six lighted softball fields, eight parking lots, and two restrooms. The daily fee for entrance to the Regional Sports Complex is five dollars per vehicle, with senior and veterans discounts available.
