The Irvington Vikings are a Fremont high school football team that play out of the Viking Stadium. The Vikings haven’t had much luck this year, losing in their homecoming game to Kennedy Varsity.
Their current captain blames their lack of success on the Irvington Vikings being comprised of talented individuals who are unable to coordinate properly. Hopefully under the leadership of Coach Kaufman, the team will be able to produce a player like NFL player and alma mater Robin Turbin!
What Irvington lacks for success in the football arena, they make up for in golf. Irvington golf player Mika Jin, a sophomore at the school, looks set to lead them to success in future golfing tournaments.

The California School for the Deaf Fremont Eagles
Established in 1860, the California School for the Deaf is one of only two schools for the deaf in California. Based in Fremont, their football team has received an honor many high school football teams have not: their games have been shown on ESPN.
All the players of the Eagles are hard of hearing or deaf, and fans who go to their games cheer them on in American Sign Language. Their story captured the heart of the nation when a documentary about the Eagles was shown on ESPN. After that, five deaf players transferred schools to join the team. Go Eagles!
San Francisco 49ers
Although not based in Fremont, the Bay Area based 49ers have many Fremont fans. The 49ers are a professional football team based in Santa Clara, playing in the NFL.
After Coach Jim Harbaugh left at the end of the 2014 season, the 49ers have been floundering. This season has been no different. Although they started out as fan favorites, the 49ers have yet to win a single match.
Sadly, it’s looking like the 49ers are about to make history, but for all the wrong reasons. They’re predicted to be evicted from the playoff with one more loss, and that will make them the first to be eliminated this early in 50 years. Ouch.
