5. Bob Sang Korean BBQ & Tofu
If you live in Fremont or the Bay, you’ve almost certainly heard whispers that Bob Sang’s is the most authentic Korean restaurant in not just the city, but the whole region. A single trip to the restaurant might just confirm those rumors.
As you can tell from the name, Bob Sang’s specializes in Korean BBQ. It is definitely recommended you try the Kalbi, the most delicious Korean short ribs. If you’re not a big fan of pork, the Dak Guyee, the barbecue chicken, will also satisfy that craving for a good BBQ.
As well as great BBQ food, their kimchi is refreshing and leaves you feeling energized, and their pajun, Korean pancakes, are second to none!
Find them at 4185 Cushing Parkway.
4. The Country Way in Fremont, CA
It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is, sometimes breakfast is the only meal that will do. The Country Way offer delicious diner fare, but it’s the breakfast items that makes them really special.
Try one of their specialty omelets served with different meats or cheeses. The garden omelet with jack cheese is a real favorite, and is made with a delightful selection of local vegetables.
A personal favorite is the club breakfast, served with two fat, fluffy pancakes, bacon, sausage and 2 eggs in a style of your choice. A perfect way to start the day—or to jolt you back to life mid-afternoon!

3. Massimo’s in CA
Massimo’s opened in 1976 and since has been a Fremont favorite, for good reason.
The cuisine is Italian-American proper, and guests can expect to enjoy this most famous of fusions. The pasta may be as good as any you’d have in the homeland, but the burgers are a highly American affair.
The American aspect adds a richness to the world famous Italian flavors. Expect to be delighted and comforted by the great food at Massimo’s (the clue’s really in the name).
Find them at 5200 Mowry Avenue.
2. Papillon in CA
French food is no longer fashionable with the young and hip, but that doesn’t stop Fremont’s foremost French Restaurant appearing on this list.
Papillon is the closest you can get to a Paris bistro in Fremont, California, and that’s where its charm lies. The interior is old-fashioned, and so is the food: but old-fashioned isn’t always bad, and if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
Enjoy traditional French fare like French onion soup with gruyere, escargot (snails) and frog legs, with more familiar favorites like steak. Don’t be scared to have a go with the escargot, because if you’re a fan of garlic, or mussels, you might have just found a new favorite!
Find them at 37296 Mission Boulevard.
1. De Afghanan
In a city with the largest Afghan population in the United States, there has to be an Afghan Restaurant on the list. Based in the city’s ‘Little Afghanistan’, De Afghanan is really la crème de la crème of its kind.
Founder Aziz Omar serves food that conjures memories of his childhood in Kabul, and his restaurant has been a success among the community here in Fremont.
To start, it’s recommended to try the Bodinjon, an eggplant topped with garlic yogurt and dried mint. The eggplant is so creamy and the yogurt divine. If you want to be adventurous, go for the Aush, an Afghan noodle soup topped with ground beef, with yogurt and mint.
For a main course, you have to go for the Afghan specialty, the kabob. All kabobs here are served with a special Afghan seasoning, which is warming and tangy. De Afghanan is a real treat.
