The parks and recreation district in Cape Coral, Florida offers many exciting opportunities for the youth in the community. Youth sports include basketball, flag football, t-ball, and baseball.
The district also teams up with many youth sports programs in the community that help to designate fields for use. The Community Athletic Organization offers a variety of programs as well including softball, cheerleading, motor cross, and soccer.

High School Sports
Cape Coral High School offers a variety of sports for the community to get involved in. Anything from bowling to cheerleading to cross country are offered at the school. Many residents enjoy the football, basketball and tennis games that the school participates in. Also on the list of sports teams at the high school level are soccer, wrestling, track and field, golf, swimming, volleyball, and softball.
Spring Training in Cape Coral
The city is fortunate to offer two opportunities to see major league baseball teams during spring training. The nearby town of Fort Meyer’s plays host to the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox, during January through March. Fort Meyers also is home to a baseball team during the rest of the season.
Soccer, Hockey and Football
Cape Coral, Florida is now home to a new professional soccer team known as the Cape Coral Hurricanes. The season for the soccer team goes from May through August. The inaugural season for the team was in 2012, and their home games and practices are an inexpensive way to spend an evening outside.
If catching a hockey game is in the cards, look no further than the Florida Everblades. This team also plays a short drive away in Fort Meyers, and is another inexpensive way to enjoy a fun filled evening.
Football fans can catch the Dolphin Express bus from the Cape Coral area to Sun Life Stadium in Miami to watch a Miami Dolphins football game. It’s quite a convenient and easy way to get to the game with no hassle.
