The high school in the town is home to a number of successful athletic programs. Some of which include the Eagles varsity and junior varsity football teams, the track and field team for boys, and the Silver Rhythm Dancers, who are the school’s drill team. The Eagles are a competitive force in the athletic department, as football is typically what drives school funding. The track and field team for boys earned first place during the UIL 5A State Track and Field Championship Meet in 2008, as well as has been awarded track and field district titles in years 1999 and 2000. The Silver Rhythm Dancers were the 2011 National Champions, and gained national recognition when they were featured in the Super Bowl XLV halftime show alongside the Black Eyed Peas.
