Many residents still refer to it as the ITC. This is a large ice-skating rink, and guests love to hop on the ice for hours on end. It may not be a team sport, but it is certainly a work out! Even if you grow tired of ice skating, the local hockey team, Dallas Stars, play tournaments in this rink that the public can watch.
Baseball and softball are very popular in Richardson, and often community or school games will be played in Breckinridge Park. There are numerous opportunities to join local or regional teams, and participate in the games. However, even if you have no desire to play, the games themselves are community events and a chance to socialize and enjoy observing.
Golf is another immensely popular activity in Richardson. While again not necessarily team-oriented, it nevertheless draws in many guests and locals to participate in the game. There are lots of events, especially at Sherrill Park Green. They even have a golf team for children ages 7 to 18. Everyone is welcome to try golf – there are, of course, green fees, but the game is worth it.
