These teams are a great way to engage with other members of the community. You can sign up with friends or coworkers and play together, or sign up by yourself and be matched with a group. They play games almost every Friday evening for about six or seven weeks, each schedule varying slightly for their respective teams.
Athletic League – Youth Sports
The youth teams allow kids ages 6 to 14 to sign up and participate. Similar to the adult league, they have a variety to choose from. Their options include basketball, volleyball, soccer, and flag football. These are all really nostalgic games that everyone can remember fondly from their own childhood, so it is refreshing to watch new generations learn and master them.
Children need to stay active, and the athletic league is a great way for them to get involved with their community and make friends they otherwise wouldn’t meet. There are year round schedules for these leagues, and they prove to be a good opportunity to build the foundations of teamwork and competitiveness.
The Parks and Recreation Department organizes these leagues and events along with the TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation).
