The city’s official Parks & Recreation Department, for instance provides:

For a more competitive yet highly supportive atmosphere, Killeen is also home to two separate youth sports associations: The Killeen-Cove Chiefs Competitive Youth Sports Association and the Killeen Trojans Youth Sports Association.

Unlike many cities that only focus on children’s athletics, Killeen, Texas offers many options for adults to join the healthy fun and competition. The Parks & Recreation Department hosts adult:
• Flag Football
All of their adult teams are currently coed and provide excellent opportunities for health, fun, and connecting with the community.
We can’t forget to mention the cities thriving running culture. Killeen hosts over 16 races throughout the year, ranging from 5-10 K, enough opportunities to satisfy any running enthusiast.
For the particularly competitive runners, they can register to participate in the Cen-Tex Race Series, which is comprised of a number of the yearly races. Participants are awarded points in their division. Following the completion of the series, an award banquet is hosted for 1st place in each of the age categories.
Finally, this small Texas town is a golf lovers’ dream. It is home to an ideal and active golf course and community with its tried and true Stonetree Golf Course which was built in the 1970s. After decades of action, it got a much needed face lift and was renovated in 2005.
The course is open to the public and is set in beautiful, rolling terrain complete with trees and lakes. It, like the town, is incredibly active, hosting over 25 different tournaments every year, and is home to even more fundraisers.
